Peljesac – The Empire of Wine

Just 45 kilometers west from Dubrovnik, Peljesac region offers you unforgettable experience. Peljesac is known as Empire of Wine in Croatia. Spectacular wine roads, pictoresque villages, old vineyards are something every wine lover has to see, and taste.

Between Ston and Orebic, the Peljesac peninsula contains nothing but rocky, barren hills. The soil is generally poor but the generous sunshine is perfect for cultivating grapes. As a result, Peljesac wine is renowned throughout Croatia and is considered by many to be the country’s finest wine.

Hotel pickup & ride

09:00 – 10:00

Our driver will pick you up at your hotel at 09:00 and drive you 45 kilometers west of Dubrovnik to Peljesac region. Along the way you can sit comfortably in the minivan and enjoy the Adriatic coastline for an hour until we arrive at our first stop of the trip.

Free time in Ston

10:00 – 11:15

Ston is famous for three things: the remarkable 5.5km fortification system, oldest salt factory which is still operating and it’s delicious oysters. The saltworks were established as far back as the 13th century. Mali Ston Bay is where you will find the oyster beds that produce what are often said to be the most delicious oysters in the world!

Drive through wine roads and vineyards

11:15 – 12:00

There’s only one main road running through the Peljesac and spectacular wine roads, pictoresque villages, old vineyards are something every wine lover has to see, and taste.

Wine tastings in 3 vineries

12:00 – 15:00

Vineyards of the Peljesac Peninsula are well known in Croatia and are considered by many to produce the country’s finest. The best-known wine is Dingac which is red wine and is produced around the slopes of Postup, Dingac and Orebic. Other local wines include Postup and Plavac Mali which is produced in numerous locations along the Peninsula.

Optional stop for lunch in Ston

15:45 – 17:00

There is an option to stop for a lunch in the city of Ston. Price of this lunch is not included in the tour price.

Drive back to Dubrovnik

17:00 – 18:00

After time well spent and many snapshots for future memories our driver will be ready to take you back to your hotel.
